When his soon to be fiancé casually mentioned that she would like a trapiche emerald, he knew it was rare and feared it was out of reach. One of the rarest gemstones on earth, trapiche is comprised of Emerald with lutite in a distinctive pattern. Formed because of an impurity in the sedimentary rock, trapiche forms as the emerald is growing….pushing the lutite towards the center of the crystal. It concentrates in the center of the crystal and along the six axis where the Emerald crystal is taking shape. Kelsey got in touch with a French geologist, from whom we obtained this magnificent specimen. Needless to say, #shesaidyes!
