Lindsay Weissner - New Gild Jewelers Store Manager

Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice about Lindsay Weissner, our new Store Manager at New Gild Jewelers, is her megawatt smile–and the second thing may be her height–she’s four foot ten and a half. But you know what they say about big things and small packages, right? Lindsay is a crossfit athlete, and among her many feats of wonder? Last year on Mothers Day, she flipped a 450 pound tractor tire! “It took two or three attempts,” she says, “afterwards, I looked like I was run over by a truck.” Such a feat is not accomplished without bruising.

Lindsay is a GIA Graduate Gemologist, and as our Store Manager and on-site gemologist, she packs a mighty punch. Her favorite gemstone is Moonstone, a feldspar; she loves it’s sheen and “almost magical effect, as if it’s its own light source.” She sometimes wears a Moonstone pendant and the magic just might be working, because she fits right in at New Gild Jewelers.

What Lindsay thought was just a part-time job at a mall jewelry store years ago turned into a career–she wanted more than the cursory look at diamonds and gemstones needed to do her job. Lindsay’s desire for something more was one that could only be truly fulfilled in a custom jewelry store setting. “I was fascinated by the science of it,” she says, “the idea of Mother Nature literally making beauty.”

Lindsay’s first job wasn’t quite this fun; she worked in High School as a hostess at a pub near her house, “the Beaver something or other, I can’t recall,” she says with a laugh. Someone energetic and friendly can do well as a hostess, and tough-as-nails Lindsay didn’t mind the job.

When she’s not working, Lindsay enjoys cooking chicken enchiladas, “or anything Mexican.” The secret, she says, “is cream of chicken soup in the sauce.” She and her husband and their school-age daughter are joined at home by their three pets–two cats and a dog. Chloe and Cuddles are, “the boss and lazy,” respectively. Axel the dog is only six months old, and “he has too much energy,” she adds with a laugh.

Lindsay was attracted to New Gild Jewelers because of the, “energy from the owners, the sense of a different work environment…one where openness and creativity would be valued, and ideas would be welcomed.” That’s a two-way street for New Gild Jewelers, because we love her energy and we’re so lucky to have her.

When it’s safe to do so, we hope that you’ll visit our custom jewelry studio in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis, MN – and let Lindsay and the whole team here help you find your sparkle!
