Carissa Widseth

We’re excited to introduce our newest jeweler, Carissa Widseth!  Carissa has always loved jewelry…in fact, her first job was making jewelry as a child with her mom.  They rented a booth for several years at “Nickel Dickle Days” in her hometown of Waconia, Minnesota and sold their creations.

Carissa has a serious talent for math, and while she started out in college in a different field, she quickly found her way to aerospace engineering!  Life intervened, and she found herself on a bench doing the work of our trade and loving it.

Carissa loves animals, too!  She has several pets, including Bartholomew Balthasar, her kitten who is very affectionate and likes to be handled like a ragdoll.  She has a painted turtle named Devin Butters, which she found up north kayaking with her family.  Last but by no means least, she found a parakeet in the hallway of her apartment building and when no one claimed it, she took it in and named it, “Birdeaux.”  It’s a full house!

Regarding what she likes about New Gild?  “Being treated like a person, which is amazing in a work environment.”  What does she miss most over the last year and a half?  Eating out!  Terzo is her favorite–wine, and anything vegetarian on the menu.

In her free time, Carissa volunteers at AFSP in honor of her late brother, Benji.

Stop in and say hello to Carissa anytime.
