For the Love of a Stone

Almost every piece of one-of-a-kind jewelry you’ll find in our gallery…began with the love of a jewel. We love all kinds of gemstones and diamonds, and sourcing stones for our pieces is one of our favorite things to do! We look for things that are unique examples of even the most frequently encountered stones. Finding a small but deep blue aquamarine can be more exciting for us than finding a bigger stone of lighter color saturation, as finding a diamond with a tiny ruby trapped inside is more thrilling than examining a so-called flawless stone.

Once we’ve identified a jewel we love, we work in small groups to design around that stone. Gemstones and diamonds seem to have things to say, and our job is just to bring that message out through good design and metalwork. In the end, we hope to create pieces that will speak to our clients in a unique way, and that they’ll find a “heart match.”

Gems and Jewelry and Permanent Bracelets– Oh my!

Have you ever wondered how many gemstones we have in our New Gild and personal collections? Too many to count, because we love them! What do you do when you have a gazillion gemstones, and it’s fall? You put on your third annual ROCKTOBER! Yep, it’s that time again…this October from Tuesday the 18th through Saturday the 22nd, we will be hosting a gem and jewel event in-store.

During this five-day event, we will be offering hundreds of loose gemstones and diamonds for you to explore and shop! Our own private collections as well as rare and exotic stones will be on hand just for you. Enjoy a “capsule experience” centered around your birthstone for example, and learn more about the gem’s varieties and unique features. If you fall in love with a gem, we will collaborate with you on a thoughtful piece of jewelry just for you. Learn more about this year’s featured rare gem, Ammolite, and have never-before shopping access to samples straight from the mines in Alberta, Canada. Have you heard about the “permanent bracelet” trend? Have a 14K gold chain “permanently” affixed to your wrist with no clasp to celebrate your commitment…that’s up to you! It can actually be cut off if you ever want it off, so don’t be put off by the word, “permanent.”

Follow our social media and blog for final scheduling for Rocktober, so you don’t miss a thing.
