“Every once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.”
These are the words with which the officiant began a beautiful afternoon wedding ceremony on June 25, 2022. The grooms wore pink and beamed. So, how did Cameron and Jason find their way to New Gild?
One of the most rewarding parts of designing jewelry is the chance to play a part in so many love stories. We love love and we’re not afraid to admit it!
After hearing countless tales of the way COVID-19 has affected couples trying to start their lives together, our New Gild team knew that we had to do something to spread a little wedding cheer. Once it dawned on us that we already had an officiant on staff, the decision was made. We were throwing a wedding!
New Gild Jewelers is committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, now more than ever. And sometimes that involves doing the hard work– like party planning! In May, we hosted a giveaway for a Pride Month Micro-Wedding. Couples were asked to submit a photo and a short essay about their relationship.
Jason and Cameron’s entry stood out right away. Penned by Jason, it told us a little about their journey together.
They grew up in the same small town but didn’t meet one another until 2019. That’s not to say that no one had tried to cross their paths. Their mothers had worked together and had tried to set them up over the years. But it was just never the right time. Luckily, that all changed at a Halloween party in 2019. Since then, they’ve bought a house where they live with their fur babies.
These two obviously had big hearts. Jason supervises a day program that supports adults with disabilities, and Cameron is a first grade teacher who created programs to provide food for families in need. Who wouldn’t fall in love with these two? We had to throw them a wedding.
“To spend a life of endless bliss, just find who you love through true love’s kiss.”
Jason and Cameron were kind enough to spend lots of time in the shop with us. They worked with New Gild owners Jen and Kelsey to design a matching pair of wedding bands. The result is two silver bands with a touch of rose gold and three diamonds each.
New Gild designer and jeweler, Heather Jo, is also a licensed officiant and performed the wedding. Cameron and Jason helped Heather Jo to write their wedding ceremony in addition to writing their own vows to one another!
Jason and Cameron’s wedding was a BEAUTIFUL event. The day was sunny and warm, and we felt so privileged to share in the magic of this delightful couple on such a special day. The newlyweds and their guests sipped champagne, ate delicious cake, chatted, danced to Kelly Clarkson, and made memories to last a lifetime!
Jason and Cameron, we wish you a lifetime of love!
